A custom plugin for editorial tag pages on a large news site
Showbiz Cheat Sheet is an entertainment news site covering TV, movies, music, reality shows and the royal family. We built a custom WordPress plugin that lets editors turn tag pages into curated landing pages.

The problem
On a news site, tag pages collect thousands of articles but by default show little more than a list.
The editors wanted to add their own content to tag pages and present it with a designed layout, without touching code.
What we built
We built a plugin that adds the needed fields to the tag edit screen in the WordPress admin, using ACF PRO, and renders the matching layout on the tag page through a shortcode.
All work was done on a staging copy synced with the live site and moved to production after the client's approval.
The result
Editors build tag landing pages from the admin, and the layout stays consistent across the site.
